Professional Services

What Is a Professional Mentor?

Taken from Greek mythology, where a wise friend named Mentor guided a young man named Telemachus, a mentor is an experienced person who gives guidance, support, and advice to someone with less experience.

Professional mentoring is a collaborative relationship designed to support your clinical, professional, and personal growth. Unlike supervision, mentoring provides guidance, encouragement, and practical insight without formal evaluation.

Why Choose Professional Mentoring?

Mentoring offers an opportunity to grow in a collaborative, supportive environment where you can:

  • Gain practical guidance from an experienced clinician
  • Build confidence in your clinical judgment and professional identity
  • Develop leadership and private practice skills
  • Navigate ethical dilemmas and complex cases
  • Reduce professional isolation through meaningful collaboration
  • Create a personalized plan for long-term career success

Whether you are a new therapist, working toward licensure, expanding your private practice, or an experienced clinician seeking ongoing professional development, mentoring provides a trusted partnership focused on helping you thrive.

Professional Consultation

Whether you are starting a private practice, expanding an established practice, or looking for ongoing professional support, CCS offers individualized consultation tailored to your goals.

Consultation services are available for:

  • New therapists establishing a private practice
  • Experienced clinicians seeking practice growth
  • Therapists pursuing licensure
  • Fully licensed clinicians seeking clinical consultation
  • Group practice owners
  • Behavioral healthcare leaders
  • Mental health professionals throughout Illinois and across the United States

Services are offered both virtually and in person.

Why Choose Consultation Instead of Supervision?

While supervision is required for licensure, clinical consultation provides an evaluation-free environment for peer collaboration. Unlike supervision, it allows licensed therapists to navigate complex cases, address personal barriers, and explore professional development without regulatory oversight.

Who Benefits from Consultation?

Consultation is ideal for:

  • Therapists pursuing licensure
  • Newly licensed clinicians
  • Experienced mental health professionals
  • Private practice owners
  • Group practice leaders

My Mentoring & Consulting Journey

I have always been passionate about helping therapists grow professionally.

In 2006, when the Illinois licensing board required Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors (LCPCs) to complete 18 hours of clinical supervision training, I embraced the opportunity to strengthen my skills while developing greater clinical confidence.

In 2017, I opened my private practice with a focus on providing high-quality therapeutic care and building meaningful relationships with clients. As my practice grew, I recognized that many therapists needed more than clinical supervision—they wanted practical guidance in building successful careers, navigating private practice, and managing complex clinical situations.

Drawing on more than two decades of clinical and leadership experience, I expanded my services to provide consultation and mentoring for therapists working toward licensure as well as fully licensed clinicians throughout the United States and internationally.
