I am a licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a masters’ degree in clinical psychology from Roosevelt University.
My career began in residential care at the John Costigan Center for adolescents. Soon after, I transitioned to inpatient and outpatient services with Amita Behavioral Medicine Hospital. These opportunities prepared me in offering extensive and intensive psychological experience within my practice. Within these settings I provide clinical assessments and treatment to adult populations and work extensively with clients who present with mild, moderate, or complicated psychological and psychiatric challenges. This allows me to fulfill my passion in helping others in need.
Having over 15 years of experience as a skillful clinician I incorporate Exposure Response Preventive (ERP) therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) among other traditional therapies while integrating a psychodynamic approach within each modality.
Providing compassion and sensitivity, I offer a safe and comforting presence as a therapist and collaborate with my clients to help them find and build their inner strength. I work with each individual from an integrative holistic perspective to identify and address specific struggles and help realize insight to achieve positive change. While addressing a variety of issues, including depression and anxiety, I specialize in complex trauma (PTSD), OCD, interpersonal relationships, couples, women’s issues, sex addiction, and grief and loss.
I consult with individuals who are in need of guidance and direction in starting their treatment. If I determine a clients’ needs are out of the scope of my expertise, I will use my professional network to make recommendation for appropriate course of treatment. Although I am knowledgeable with the use of psychotropic medication, I will defer to prescribing professional.
